Last month, CC had the chance to rev up her little "train-iac" side when we visited Bender/Helper Impact Family Fun Day. She couldn't resist the TOMICA car and train set from TOMY Toys that offered a transportation-minded "Hypercity" at her little fingertips.
Forget princesses and fairies -- two of CC's favorite things in the world right now. She was all over the miniature die-cast locomotives and automobiles that zoomed around kid-sized gas stations and pizza shops.
And when we got home, she spent so much time playing with her TOMICA Patrol Liner train (a gift from B/HI) that I wondered if she'd given up on Cinderella altogether.
Not so much, but it was still fun to see her play with something that helped develop fine motor skills (no pun intended).
What I liked most, though, was the imaginative way she played with the train. She pushed and pulled it all over the floor, sometimes placing mini stuffed animals in the cargo space for a jaunty ride from her bedroom to the kitchen. Other times, she just liked opening and closing the doors -- sometimes pulling them off, actually, which wasn't that difficult.
She instantly made this new addition a part of her creative and fantastical world, and, of course, I'm definitely on board for that.

They are both so cute but I like the train! My cousin P would go crazy for that. He is OBSESSED with trains and I would love to give it to him.
I like you on facebook (and in person) :)
Since my girls were born we have spent Friday nights at Bruno's Pizzeria on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica. It is a real hometown place with Bruno cooking, his wife Rosalba waiting tables and their son Gerardo hanging around playing chess at various tables. Now, at ages 3 and 5, my girls are well behaved at restaurants because of the training they had at Brunos and we even held Sophie's 3rd birthday at Brunos.
In Alex's five years we have purchased, received as gifts and have sold lemonade to earn money to get trains. He loves trains so much he talks about them in his sleep. Well you know I didn't help him any by building him a train table when he was two years old. Alex would love to have this train for Christmas.
