The Skrumps Launch Party:
The Skrumps is the newest addition to The Jim Henson Company family. Created by writer-illustrator-sculptor John Chandler, this comic-book series will celebrate its debut with a free launch party at Meltdown Comics (7522 W. Sunset Blvd.; LA, CA 90046) on Saturday, June 25, from 12 p.m.-3 p.m. There will be giveaways, refreshments and autograph signings by Chandler.

Families looking for some old-school fun (and air-conditioning!) can indulge in a little Winnie the Pooh at the L.A. Film Festival. This 69-minute animated film will be preceded by "The Ballad of Nessie," a six-minute animated short film about the legendary Loch Ness resident.
