Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! goes back to school

As kids head back to desks, pencils and playgrounds, I thought I'd share some fun back-to-school activities from our friends in Wuzzleburg.

In addition to checking out the playful stuff on the Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! Web site (say that five times fast), or the show on Nick Jr. or Noggin, tykes can also head to the kitchen to make:

Freckle-Faced Wubbzys

Ingredients:
• 1 10‐oz. Package of refrigerator biscuits
• ¼ cup sesame or sunflower seeds (OR ¼ cup cinnamon sugar)
• 36 raisins

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
2. Spray a cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray
3. Shape six raw biscuits into rectangles
4. Cover in either seeds or cinnamon sugar
5. Flatten slightly on the cookie sheet
6. Roll small pieces of dough to form arms, legs and Wubbzy’s tail
7. Use raisins for eyes, nose and mouth
8. Bake 8 to 10 minutes
9. Eat when cooled or pack in lunches!

OR craft a:

Wacky Pencil Holder

Supplies:
• 2 new yellow rectangular kitchen scrub pads
• Scissors
• Black felt
• Yellow felt
• Fabric glue
• Googly eyes or pom‐poms to create Wubbzy’s face

Directions:
1. Cut black felt into two similar shapes as the yellow scrub pads
2. Cut four pieces of yellow felt for Wubbzy’s arms and legs
3. Stack the scrub pads with the black felt pieces face‐to‐face and arms/legs in place
4. Glue all along three of the four straight edges making sure to glue in Wubbzy’s arms and
legs
5. Glue on googly eyes and pom‐poms for Wubbzy’s face. (Hint: make sure the open side
of the scrub pads is at the top)
6. Insert pens, pencils or markers in the opening to create wacky hair for Wubbzy!

Enjoy!
