UPDATE: Congrats to Niamh, who won the Daniel Tiger back-to-school pack! Please email me at losangelesstory@gmail.com with your shipping info. Thanks to everyone who participated!
A little tiger is looking to make a big splash on Monday, Sept. 3, when Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood premieres on PBS Kids.
Inspired by the famous Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood (of my era), this show, geared toward preschoolers ages 2-4, hopes to help kids learn strategies for dealing with the common frustrations that come with being, well, very young. It's so great to see a show touching on emotions that are real for little ones but one that also has solutions that are accessible and helpful. (And set to music, at that!)
I was able to attend the TCA Press Tour this summer and talked to the show's executive producers Angela Santomero and Kevin Morrison. (Read it here.) I loved hearing about the research they did with children, the development work of creating fun songs that give kids actual solutions, as well as the surprises that came with creating a new animated program inspired by Fred Rogers.
Be sure to check it out on Labor Day!

I like the set, the characters and each of the happenings. It takes me back to my early childhood and middle childhood years too!
It's a fun show and a little different than the others on PBS. I love the memories it brings back of watching Mister Rogers.
love that it shows real frustrations

i like the show because it keeps the grandkids occupied for a while.
I like that they learn things.
I love how such a wonderful story, is being continued on PBS. This is a show my son will love, just as I did when Mr.Rogers was on.
I am not familiar with the show but looking forward to seeing it soon.

I like that the show isn't over stimulating and at pace, meaning it's not too fast going from one scene to the next. Daniel explains situations and expresses his emotions properly (what toddler's are learning to do) and it shows his curiosity in learning. On top of that the song is catchy and my son loves the previews so far! =) I liked/shared via Facebook: Camille Gutierrez
When my daughters were growing up Mister Rogers was the only program we watched. I use to think I enjoyed it more than they did! The values and love in the program was tremendous for children, but just as much so for the adults who needed to hear the words, “You are special” or “I like you just the way you are.” Mister Rogers taught the children AND the adults, it was okay to make mistakes, and how much fun it is to explore and try new things. I have told friends Mister Rogers’ program was ‘better than church.’ Not only do I get to watch the original programs online with my grandchildren, now I get to share this wonderful new program with them too!
I really like the pacing of the show, how it reminds me of Mr. Rogers and that no one speaks in a baby voiced lisp.

Thank you!
My daughter watches PBS Kids each morning, and LOVES to play at PBSKids.org! She found Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood online and went crazy for it! She sees the preview each morning on TV and is SO excited for Monday! She says her favorite character is Katerina KittyKat (that's fitting, since my DD says she part cat, and takes ballet classes)! She would be beyond THRILLED to win this prize pack! *Fingers Crossed!* - Thank you PBS for putting some wonderful shows on that are both fun and educational for our children! -- Elizabeth (and Desiree) -- Mom2Desiree@gmail.com
I loved Mr. Rogers and this show appears to take the gentle approach to dealing with problems like he did!

Just so cute but not dumbed down for kids
I wish I had seen this contest. (I am way behind). My friend Julie and her daughter Sadie were in the first episode. How cool is that?
