Designer babies: That's so L.A.

I read an article in the Wall Street Journal that terrified me. It detailed a Los Angeles fertility clinic's quest to give parents the choice regarding gender, eye color, hair color, etc., of their babies.

I posted about this in greater length on LA Moms Blog. Check it out if you're interested.

The comments are pretty interesting too.

When I worked at the bookstore in grad school I stumbled on a book - confessions of a serial egg donor. It was very interesting (and only $1!). But what was more interesting were the signs posted by the dorm elevators looking for Ivy League eggs. Let me tell you, those eggs were worth a lot of money!!!!

Crazy, huh? Totally "Brave New World"!

And I've seen those Ivy League egg ads, too. They even get down to SAT scores. Yikes! They do pay well, though! (As if floods of credit card offers to college kids weren't bad enough.)
