Happy First Day of 1st Grade!

I remember writing a similar post last year, when CC started kindergarten, and being barely able to get through it.

Yes, I was one of those blubbering parents, who waved goodbye on the first day of school through a curtain of bittersweet tears.

This year, however, was different. Granted, there were still tears—but they stayed welled up and squashed into my eyes. (Although maybe that had something to do with another mom catching my eye as I drove off. Felt like I had to play it somewhat cool.)

But, actually, what I really think is that it got easier. Yes, it's hard to watch your child go off into the great unknown, but this year it was much less "unknown" than last year. She's at the same school, she has her friends, and she basically knows what to expect.

And she's going to do an amazing job. As usual, I'm so proud of her!
